Puppocino Kennel – Raising Happy, Healthy Puppies for Life

DISCLAIMER

Important Notes:

  • The puppies come with a 2 year health guarantee which covers over 250 illnesses tested by Embark Vet.
  • Health Testing done on parent dogs is through Embark or PawPrint Genetics. No OFA testing has been done unless explicitly stated.
  • CKC Registration: The puppies do not come with CKC registration unless we explicitly advertise as such.
  • Toy size puppies are prone to luxating patellas. There is no single genetic test to determine if a dog carries the luxating patella gene, because luxating patella (LP) is a complex condition influenced by both genetics and environmental factors. Luxating patellas are not covered until our 2 year health guarantee.
  • Cancer is not covered under our two year health guarantee. This has the same logic as the luxating patella, reason being there are external factors that come into play such as diet and lifestyle. That being said, we have never had a dog that developed cancer.
  • Runts of the litter are often desired due to their size. Runts of the litter may run a higher chance of experiencing health issues.
  • We noticed Teacup Poodles are extra prone to luxating patellas. Purchase with caution and ALWAYS purchase health insurance for your dog, no matter what breed and how much testing has been done. You never know what may happen in life and insurance buys you the peace of mind to know you will not have to choose between vet costs or the health of your dog. Insurance is also cheaper to purchase when the puppy is young.
  • Teacup size is not an official size under any kennel club rules. This term is used by many to reference dogs that are even smaller than the current smallest official size, toy.
  • If you purchase a puppy expected to be less than 12 lbs full grown, you should take more precautions not allow the dog to jump from high areas, this can cause luxating patella or other joint issues in dogs. (Imagine if you are jumping down from a surface double or triple your height multiple times a day everyday, you would run a risk of developing knee issues too. The smaller your dog, the higher the chance of this happening.
  • Size estimates of the puppy is determined through parent dogs and the puppy's weight at the time of their age. It is not uncommon for puppies to end up being smaller are larger than the expected weight as sometimes genes  from previous generations come up and environmental factors come into play.

If you have any questions of concerns, please ask us before purchasing a puppy.
